Compañía la Iberica has its exploitation center, Finca El Encinar de Montejo, in the vicinity of Montejo, Salamanca. Our production areas are located in the northwest of Spain in the autonomous community of Castilla y León.
Listed as the ideal area for the production of the Iberian pig given its thick pastures and large acorn growing areas, in addition to the magnificent mountain slopes, very favorable for the mobility of Iberian pigs.
Our Finca El Encinar de Montejo, completely available for the leisure and recreation of Iberian pigs, is equipped with the latest equipment. Facilitating the control of all the moments, this equipment is separated into three buildings where all the processes for the insemination, gestation and weaning of the pigs are controlled and supervised.
We have more than 1000 Iberian mothers: Retintas, the best Iberian breed line for the reproduction of Iberian pigs since they have an ideal size, the most feasible bone structure and the physical characteristics to obtain a high level of quality in the cuts coming.
In the breeding phase, their diet is vital, the diet includes the best acorns of holm oaks and cork oaks from the natural paradises of the pastureland of Salamanca and natural cereals, thus respecting the natural growth in freedom of the pigs or extensive method. Always respecting the environment and protecting the ecosystem, which evidences our commitment to climate change and animal protection.
At our headquarters in Salamanca, a careful selection is made under excellent quality parameters to obtain the best pieces. The elaboration process is done with the patience that gives a long artisan tradition in obtaining Iberian products.
